Parsnips

 
PickSmall to medium sized parsnips that are firm, smooth, and well-shaped.
Store Store in a open or perforated bag in the fridge for up to 10 days.
PrepareTrim top and bottom ends.  Peel with a vegetable peeler and rinse.

Peaches

 
PickFruit that gives slightly to gentle pressure and smells sweet.
Store Store unripe peaches at room temperature to soften.  Store ripe peaches in the fridge in a paper bag for up to 3 days.
PrepareWash then eat or slice.

 

Pears

 
PickRipe fruit that gives to gentle pressure and smells fragrant.¬† Scars and blemishes won’t affect flavour.
Store Store unripe pears at room temperature to ripen.  Store ripe pears in an open or perforated plastic bag in the fridge.
PrepareWash well under cold water.  Peel or leave unpeeled.

 

Peppers 

 
PickChoose bright, smooth, and firm peppers.
Store Store in an open or perforated plastic bag in the fridge for up to 1 week.
PrepareRinse well under cold water.  Remove stem, core, and seeds.

 

Potatoes

 
PickChoose potatoes that are firm with no signs of sprouting.  Avoid potatoes with green skin.
Store Store potatoes in a cool, dark, and dry place, but not in the fridge.
PrepareRinse well under cold water.  Remove all dark spots and sprouts.  Peel or leave unpeeled.  Peel off any green skin.
