Ginger tea with honey and lemon

This ginger tea with lemon and honey recipe was given to me by my Nana. I love how comforting the smell and taste of this delicious drink is (and how it tickles my tongue!). Ginger has amazing healing properties (there’s a reason flat ginger ale helps settle upset stomachs) so this tea is great to make during cold and flu season.

If you like your tea sweeter, just add more honey! This tea is delicious served either warm or steaming hot but for a refreshing summer drink, serve over ice with a little soda and a slice of lemon for fizzy alternative to lemonade!

1 Lemon
4 ÂĽ cups water
227 grams of ginger, peeled, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 to 2 tablespoons honey

  3. Carefully strain tea through a fine-mesh sieve to remove ginger and lemon. Stir in reserved lemon juice and honey.

Ginger Tea with Lemon and Honey Tips:

  • Peel ginger with the back of a spoon or with a vegetable peeler.
  • Great way to use up any leftover ginger in your fridge.
  • The amount of ginger you need for this recipe, is a large piece that’s roughly the size of your hand (that’s how my Nana measures the ginger for this recipe!).
  • Add soda water to it in the summer and serve over ice for a refreshing drink.
