This gift guide has you covered with some great gift ideas for dads who love to cook and some outside-the-box suggestions!

Game – Foodie Fight

Father's Day gift ideas, foodie fight

Right now, this is one of my favourite game.  It’s so much fun to play, especially if you think you know everything about food and cooking.

Favourite question so far: What Italian-born international movie star said, “Everything you see I owe to spaghetti”?

Answer: Sophia Loren

River Cottage Veg Everyday!

Father's Day gift ideas, River Cottage Cookbook

I want to make everything out of this cookbook, that’s how good it is.  It puts the spotlight on vegetables – making them the star attraction and not an after thought.  The recipes are easy and the pictures look delicious.   I’m in love with the kale and onion pizza.  Trust me, if Dad loves his veggies, he’ll appreciate this cookbook.

Digital Foodie Magazine

Father's Day gift ideas, cook's illustrated

As my make-up artist Sarah once said, magazine subscriptions are the gift that keeps giving – all year long!  If Dad loves to understand the “whys” of cooking then get him a subscription to Cook’s Illustrated.   It comes the old school way, delivered to your front door or you can have it delivered to his tablet in a digital format.

Grilling – Canadian Living Barbecue Book

Father's Day gift ideas, Canadian living grill book

This is a great cookbook for Dad, especially if he loves to grill but doesn’t want complicated recipes.  This cookbook delivers (mostly) quick and easy BBQ dinners – it’s a sure winner.  And you can wrap it up with a BBQ sauce he’s never tried before – pick one up at your favourite butcher shop.

Man of the Kitchen Toys –

Rosle Grater

Grater

This is a manly grater.  It has a large sturdy surface with big holes for faster grating – you can get through cheese and vegetables quickly.  It fits over bowls (less mess on the counter), has no-slip rubber bottoms and is slim so it stores with ease.

Mini Food Processor

Mini Chopper

A mini food processor is really handy and fits easily on most countertops.  It can whiz up sauces, chop onions and mince a big batch of garlic quickly, and is easier than a large food processor to clean.  He’ll be able to make the creamiest guacamole – just ask my friend Mick, it’s his gauc secret weapon .

Splash-Proof  Thermapen Thermometer

Thermometer

This thermometer isn’t cheap, but it is the best.  Some thermometer’s take forever to read the temperature – this one reads it instantly.  It had high accuracy and it’s water resistant – which is useful when you’re grilling in the rain.  Think of this as an investment piece – and the best part, it comes in a ton of awesome colours.

Personal Grocery Cart

personal shopping cart

This is for the Dad who loves to visit farmers markets on the weekend.  He be able to bring home more groceries than he could carry.  I want one of these!
