Basic Hot Chocolate

Total Time: 8 minutes

Basic Hot Chocolate

1 cup milk
1 tablespoon powdered cocoa
1 tablespoon brown sugar (or a little more if you like it sweeter)
Whipped cream, for serving (optional)

  1. Heat milk in a small saucepan over low heat until hot, about 6 to 8 minutes.
  2. Whisk in powdered cocoa and brown sugar.
  3. Serve immediately with a dollop of whipped cream.

Add a tablespoon of chocolate chips for an extra chocolaty hot chocolate.

Hot Chocolate Ideas:

  • Add chocolate shavings on top of whipped cream.
  • Garnish with a candy cane for a festive touch! Peppermint flavour goes great with chocolate.
