Keep Your Cooking Utensils Handy

Utensils are the tools of your kitchen and are usually needed at a moments notice to stir, whisk, grate, pound, and open.  You don’t want to waste time searching through a messy drawer trying to find a tool you know you have.

Helpful Hint: Keep your cooking utensils handy and close to where you cook.

I find that most storage utensil containers found at kitchen shops are too small to hold your prized tools.  Instead, get creative, look for something around your house like a flower pot, water jug, antique pot, or even a pretty ice bucket or trophy.  My storage container is a large, fire engine red flower pot from Ikea filled with my most used tools: tongs, wooden spoons, spatulas, rasp, hand graters, garlic press, can opener, honing steel, whisk, etc.
